It was reported that this decision was reversed, but I am hearing that it wasn't. They just chose not to announce it publicly. But I am hearing that there is a new private entrance and exit for celebrities in order to keep them from being mobbed. This could explain how Jimin and Namjoon got in without being seen. JK may have had an issue which prevented him from using that entrance. Who knows. But we are in full speculation mode so let's just go with it.

The tannies decision to step forward and take their fate into their own hands is the most brilliant chess move the world has ever seen. This is so socially, intellectually and politically savvy that the entire world is taking notice. Even in the U.S., this is being discussed.
The moment they step foot out of ms, they will become untouchable legends, not for their music, but for their integrity, bravery, and ability to outmaneuver their own government.
Even SK citizens who may not like them or their music, will become ingratiated by their nobility which shines above all others. They really, really, REALLY could have thrown their weight around and fought this, but they didn't. Once this is done, they will be free. No one can hold anything over their heads. They will never be pawns again.
And the best part, no one who comes after them will ever have a valid excuse for exemption. They are slamming the door shut be no one else will ever top their success and value added contributions to their country.
